Seven Days To Fall In Love With Barcelona, Spain

Day Five

This day was a big day for us! This day, we were going to tour La Sagrada Famรญlia. First, we had to fill our empty stomachs as we had slept in to rest our feet. Right around the corner from our hotel we ate at Vivari Coffee and Bakery for breakfast then made another trip to Santa Caterina Market (Mercat) for fresh juice again. Honestly, the donuts were the best donuts we’ve ever had!

We had purchased tickets for La Sagrada Famรญlia months before our trip and we had thought our tickets were for a 4:15 pm time slot, but we were mistaken and they were for 6:15 pm (we were not used to reading the time slots in 24-hr clock style). So we had a few extra hours to spare before we could go in. Thankfully there were concession stands located outside La Sagrada Famรญlia and we decided to share a cheese flatbread then head our way up the street to enjoy tinto de veranos at Copa Cafรฉ.

La Sagrada Famรญlia left us speechless. It was a beautiful experience and we had the pleasure of listening to our audio guide to give us the full experience. We specifically chose an evening time to be able to see the beams of light set through the colorful glass as the sun set, pure magic.

As we parted Sagrada Famรญlia, we had an exciting evening planned back at our hotel, The Barcelona Edition. We had bought tickets to the Cabaret, the hidden supper club, in our hotel. Cabaret is a dinner and a show, it was similar to a Las Vegas Zumanity show and it included a five course elevated meal. The dinner was color coordinated for each meal and bite, it was appealing to the eyes and the flavors were delicious! Once the show and dinner ends, the Cabaret turns into a club where a DJ from Ibiza played all night, we stayed till 2 am, but the party was still going strong with no end in sight.
